I have quite a few books…in fact, I have more books than I have room. I LOVE my books like some people love their pets. One day I will have the space to store them all in one room, but for now, I have to creatively cram them on the shelves. So I think it would be good to purge a book (better than nothing!). So I thought I would do a giveaway of one of my books I’ve read that I can part with without crying. Not only will this give me room for a new book (hehe) but it is eco-friendly to “recycle” books instead of buying news ones, and I strive to be very eco-friendly.
So here is a list of some books I own and would like to pass on to the next reader. Leave a comment telling me which one you would like the most and one eco-friendly thing you currently do or plan on starting this year. I recommend a Goodreads search for books your aren’t familiar with. Keep in mind that these are used books - not new, therefore, depending on the book, it may have some wear. I’ll do a random drawing on Saturday, January 30 and send the book to it’s new home. Getting cozy with a good book is one of the best things to do in the winter!

Eat pray love is my choice. One eco friendly thing I have just started doing is using re-usable snack bags. I have decided that instead of throwing away my scrap fabric I would sew it all together to make bags! I have extra PUL, which I use for the lining. I also got Bun on board! He uses a lot of plastic bags so this is a great way to get him to stop using them!
I'll go for The Other Boleyn Girl, as I've seen it here and there and been curious - I've always had a penchant for historical fiction. I do a lot of eco friendly things, but I think I'm going to try and continue to decrease my trash by using freecycle for certain things, buying stuff with less packaging, and maybe even finally investing in some reusable snack bags.
eat pray love. so good but i don't have my own copy. i think my eco-friendly thing will be to clean out my own bookshelf and donate/pass on what i no longer want. great inspiration!
I want to read eat pray love..and I see it's very popular lol. For the new year I would like to convert my house guest to quit bring plastic into my house I'm on a mission wish me luck
I'd like The Nanny Diaries. as for my eco-friendly thing, my goal this year is to convince DH to stop using ziploc bags and switch to reusable.
I'd like Night, because it's one of my most favorite books of all time. I had the pleasure of hearing Elie Wiesel speak once and to say that it was life changing would be an understatement. And one of the dogs ate my copy. :P
As for EF goals - my goal this year is to get down to one bag of trash per week. We're currently at two, but I know we can do better.
I'd pick The Other Boleyn Girl. I haven't read it but have heard good things.
My EF goal is to cut down our paper towel use. DH is addicted so we'll see how this goes!
The Nanny Diaries :)
I have started a number of eco-friendly habits, but the one that we surprised family & friends with has been to cloth diaper. I am working on making cloth wipes also. I already switched from paper towels to rags and am pleased at the difference in garbage so using cloth diapers/wipes for our son was the next step!
